Information about Accommodation ESU
General information
Every year ESU (the Regional Agency for the Right to Education) offers a variable amount of placements among the
several halls of residence for the international exchange
students. Usually the number of applicants is higher than the
available spots. For this reason not all applications
can be satisfied and only those submitted before the deadline (July 15th for the first semester and November 15th
for the second) will be taken into consideration.
The allocation proceeds through the following formalities:
- The Accommodation Form has to be filled in all the parts
(arrival time, permanence, options, signature of student
and coordinator)
- The Form is classified according to the reception date
(the date of the stamp is unreliable)
- The admitted students will receive (around the July 15th
for the first semester, November 15th for
the second) communication via publication on the website
and an email indicating the
admitted hall of residence, type of room and the availability
period of the placement (that could not always coincide
with the requested period).
In the email you will also find instructions to download
from the web the necessary documents (contract, bank details,
etc) or to cancel your request.
Courses at the University of Padua, in accordance with
the different Faculties, are structured two monthly, three
monthly and six monthly (semesters). Accommodation in
ESU halls of residence is assigned according to the following periods*:
- September 27th, 2010 – December 30th, 2010
- September 27th, 2010 – February 26th, 2011
- September 27th, 2010 – March 31st, 2011
- September 27th, 2010 – July 28th, 2011
- February 28th, 2011 – July 28th, 2011
- April 1st, 2011 – July 28th, 2011
(*) The period could change according to the publication of the Academic Year
Three-month places are at 300€ (single room) 250€ (double room) monthly price; prices for other places depend on the type of the residence. People staying during different periods from the above mentioned ones can apply for a place in one of the guest lodgings.
It is NOT possible to choose in which hall of residence
you would like to stay, even if it is possible to express your personal
preference; the type of room (single or double) will be communicated
at the moment of the allocation. The keys of the room are
delivered at the caretaker's lodge.
The list of the assigned students will be published on the
SASSA website about one week after the expired deadline.
The confirmation of the placement will be valid as soon as SASSA receives the receipt stating the payment of the deposit and the signed contract before the deadline indicated in the letter of allocation. The date on the stamp will not be considered therefore it is advisable to fax as well as send by recorded delivery together with a passport sized photograph.
ATTENTION: in case of cancellation of your stay in Padua
after having paid the deposit, it will only be reimbursed
in serious and attested cases (illness, accidents, etc.) and
with a written notification at least 15 days before your arrival.
Otherwise the deposit will be held as a compensation. If cancellation
would occur after arrival in Padua, also a two month rent
will be requested in addition to the loss of the deposit.
